Our brief interactive roundtable sessions will give you the opportunity to meet and hear a brief introduction from each of our Clinic Hosts and to present questions directly to our experts who will do their best to diagnose some of your challenges. After lunch, join other delegates and take your place at one of our 5 tables in the main conference room and whilst you enjoy some light refreshments our clinic hosts will visit each group/table at 12 minute intervals. |

Shaun Brook, BSc (Hons) FCII, ACIBSenior Executive Officer Heritage Insurance Management (Bahrain) W.L.L. Shaun moved into captive management when he moved to Guernsey in 1995 and joined Willis in 2000, before joining the Heritage Group in 2006. With over 20 years of insurance experience having previously worked as a Professional Indemnity underwriter and a broker in the UK, Shaun has overseen the management of several Blue Chip client companies with structured, global corporate programmes. Shaun is one of the founding management team members who are expanding the Heritage operations into the Middle East. Previously Shaun was their Director responsible for Business Development across Europe and Bermuda. Shaun specialises in the design and implementation of structured programmes utilising reinsurance capacity and a range of non-conventional means of security, and the development of bespoke insurance solutions. Shaun has a BSc (Hons) in Financial Services and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Managing Director Aon Global Risk Consulting Middle East Cyril has 20 years of risk consulting experience with Financial Institutions, Heavy Industries, Construction/ Capital Projects, Power and Energy and Petrochemical Industries. Cyril has developed risk management methodologies and frameworks and designed supporting tools and techniques ensuring thorough and effective implementation. He has advised Executive teams and Board of Directors and led multi-divisional, multi-year assignments in North America and EMEA. Cyril's areas of expertise are risk diagnostics, assessments and mapping, in-depth analysis of specific risks, scenario planning and option analysis, development and implementation of risk strategies and risk solutions. His previous experience includes quality management, process analysis and redesign, facilitation and change management capabilities. Prior to joining Aon, Cyril has contributed to the development of the Risk Management Practices and Competency Centres of Deloitte, Andersen and Marsh. His current responsibilities are building ERM/Operational Risk capabilities within Aon, including the design and application of leading-edge risk techniques and practices, development of capabilities across EMEA (more specifically the MENA region), risk training and knowledge management. Wayne JonesPartner Clyde & Co Wayne Jones is a partner with Clyde & Co and is a recognised specialist in the GCC region for insurance and reinsurance work. Wayne also has extensive knowledge of the London and European markets. He has a broad regional practice advising local and foreign insurance interests on a wide range of matters, including an increasing amount of GCC regulatory work, including in the DIFC and QFC. Wayne is a frequent speaker at regional insurance market events and a regular contributor to industry publications. He is described as a “fine reinsurance lawyer” by Legal 500. Robert Baxter Advisor Qatar Foundation Robert Baxter joined Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development in May 2004 as Director of Pubic Relations and Marketing, and became Communications Advisor to the Board of Directors in February 2006. Before joining Qatar Foundation he was Deputy Director of Communications and Head of Press and Public Relations at Queen’s University Belfast. This followed a long career as a journalist and manager at BBC World Service from 1980 until March 2001. In his last position with the organization he led the BBC’s Russian media monitoring team. He has a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol, an MBA from Henley Management College and a professional qualification in interpreting and translation. Qatar Foundation was established in 1995 as a vehicle for educational and social reform. Its flagship project is Education City, a 1,000-ha campus on the outskirts of Doha that hosts a range of institutions linked by a commitment to excellence in education. These include branch campuses of five leading US universities. This complex coalition has a wide spectrum of stakeholders, all of whom are in a position to influence the Foundation’s primary mission of transforming Qatar into a 21st century knowledge-based society. They range from prospective students and their parents to international business leaders. The main challenge for the organisation’s professional communicators is to earn the understanding, approval and co-operation of all of these parties. Lisa Kelaart-CourtneyDirector CCL Lisa is a dedicated insurance professional with a practitioner and regulatory background. Prior to joining CCL, Lisa held the post of Associate Director in Supervision with the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), regulating banks and insurance institutions, managers and intermediaries and participated in the creation and drafting of the rules and regulations. Further, Lisa was the DFSA representative to the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), holding membership positions on the Technical Committee, Insurance Fraud, Financial Conglomerates and Reinsurance Subcommittees and was an active contributing author in drafting IAIS guidance papers on anti-money laundering, abuse of insurers, regulation of captive insurance, Compliance and the like. Additionally, Lisa participates in International Monetary Fund (IMF) Missions in the financial services industry including financial sector assessment programs, and is an approved World Bank consultant. Gail NorstromCEO Gulf Reinsurance Limited Gail Norstrom has over 36 years of experience in management, underwriting, ceded reinsurance, marketing, risk control and broking in the property insurance industry. He was most recently a Managing Director of Aon Risk Services Property Practice Group. Gail was recruited by Aon in 2001 as a Managing Director in their National Property Broking Group in the United States. Prior to joining Aon, Mr. Norstrom spent 30 plus years in the property insurance business all with Industrial Risk Insurers (IRI). He retired from IRI in June of 2001 after eight years as President and CEO. Gail holds a Masters in Sciences in Physics from the University of Illinois and a MBA from North Western University’s Kellogg School of Management. |
