XL makes appointments to PRTC team

Political risk and trade credit team now numbers 15

XL Group has made four appointments to its global political risk and trade credit (PRTC) team.

Joe Blenkinsopp has been appointed as XL deputy global head. He reports into XL Group chief underwriting officer and global head for PRTC Richard Maxwell.

XL has appointed Juliette Barre as a senior underwriter, Alice Blake as an underwriter and Ian Nunn as an assistant underwriter. The team will be based in London.

The insurer and reinsurer’s PRTC arm now has 15 staff and underwrites lines of business such as confiscation, contract frustration and war/political violence.

Maxwell said: “By increasing our global footprint with the arrival of these highly respected individuals, we will be able to take advantage of their knowledge and expertise and continue to build upon our ambition.”
