AEGIS Managing Agency Ltd, the Lloyd's managing agency for AEGIS Energy Syndicate 1225, has appointed Stuart Davies as managing director.
Davies's appointment – along with other recent energy team appointments – will help ensure that the syndicate continues to develop as a lead underwriter in both onshore and offshore energy.
Davies has worked in insurance – including the Lloyd's market and a leading accountancy firm – for 16 years, most recently as operations director at Highway Insurance Holdings PLC.
Before to this, Davies worked as claims director at Highway, finance director at Ockham Personal Insurance Agency Ltd. and finance manager at Syndicate 37.

Davies's appointment has been approved by both Lloyd's and the Financial Services Authority.
