Paul Chapman hired to run division

Axis Global Accident & Health, a division of insurance and reinsurance group Axis Capital Holdings, is now actively marketing its capability to write accident and speciality heath reinsurance from Ireland and the UK. This new capability will complement the company’s existing offerings in the US.

International reinsurance cover is now available on a quota share, excess of loss and aggregate excess of loss basis for corporate personal accident and business travel accident products, association/affinity programmes and catastrophic health products.

Paul Chapman has been named CEO of international accident and health operations and that he will lead international market expansion from Axis’s London office.

Prior to joining Axis Global Accident & Health, Chapman worked at the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies for 18 years and most recently served as the head of personal insurance at Chubb Insurance Company of Europe, where he had responsibility for its personal lines and accident and health business across Europe.

AXIS Global Accident & Health plans to expand its insurance operations to the European, Canadian, Australian and Asian markets. Insurance products for international markets now in development include personal and business travel accident programmes for employer groups, as well as accident and specialty health cover for associations, affinity groups, financial institutions and other organisations.
