Syndicate 1084 partners with ScandIns to write Scandinavian marine risks
Chaucer Syndicate 1084 at Lloyd’s has entered a new Scandinavian energy partnership with underwriting agency Scandinavian Insurance Management Company (ScandIns).
ScandIns, which has operated as an energy underwriting representative for Syndicate 1084 since January 2010, has now received approval in the UK to act as official underwriting agent for Lloyd’s.
The agency will act for Chaucer, underwriting energy and associated risks, specialising in developing upstream energy opportunities for clients in Scandinavia. Chaucer said the partnership offers clients the benefit of a regional service and international underwriting expertise combined with the financial strength of Lloyd’s.
“Our agency agreement with ScandIns provides us with further opportunities to develop our international presence in the energy market,” said Chris White, head of the energy division at Syndicate 1084, in a statement. “We recognise the importance of having local representation and we look forward to working with ScandIns to develop our presence in the Scandinavian market.”
ScandIns was established in Norway in 2009 holds a licence from The Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway to transact energy insurance and reinsurance.
