Claims manager and loss adjuster says additional resource was required for high level of earthquake claims activity in London market

Crawford & Company, the world’s largest independent provider of claims management solutions, has set up an exclusive London desk focused on coordinating Chilean earthquake claims for insurers and reinsurers in the Lloyd’s and London market.

Crawford has 435 adjusters, inspectors and other personnel working on earthquake claims, supported by Spanish-speaking staff from throughout the company. The team in Chile also is supplemented by members of Crawford’s Global Technical Services (GTS) business units, which are focusing on the major and complex claims in the country.

“Our Chilean operations continue to provide the insurance market with exemplary claims service despite the extenuating circumstances they are facing. Together with the support of Crawford & Company globally we are maintaining a highly professional response to both the insurance and reinsurance markets,” said Mike Reeves, executive vice president of Global Markets.

Crawford believes that this additional resource in London will meet London market needs. “Our focus here continues to be on the commercial market, particularly for global organisations including Fortune 500 companies, reinsurers, Lloyd’s and the London market,” Reeves said.

Crawford will continue to provide regular bulletins on developments in the country in coming weeks.
