Bermuda-based (re)insurer Endurance has promoted Rene Lamer to the position of senior vice-president and head of US property-catastrophe treaty business.
Lamer will continue to global catastrophe reinsurance head Stephen Young.
Lamer joined Endurance in March 2002 as a catastrophe analyst in the Bermuda-based catastrophe reinsurance team. He was promoted to vice-president of US property catastrophe treaty reinsurance in 2006.
In 2008, Lamer assumed additional responsibilities as head of catastrophe-linked products, focusing on alternative catastrophe reinsurance.
“[Lamer’s] extensive experience with catastrophe models and his strong underwriting capabilities have contributed to the property catastrophe group’s overall success,” said Young in a statement. “We are looking forward to Rene taking on a broader role within the Bermuda reinsurance team.”
