Tropical Storm Ernesto, which briefly became a category 1 hurricane over the weekend, is currently passing over Cuba with windspeeds of 39-73mph. It is expected to make landfall in Florida in 33 hours time with a projected path that could take it directly through Miami.
According to Tropical Storm Risk, Ernesto is not expected to grow in strength above a tropical storm and is expected to lose strength once it passes over Florida, probably moving back across the Atlantic briefly before making landfall again on the coast of Georgia or South Carolina.
