Erik Manning joins from Deutsche bank

Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has hired Erik Manning to its global specialties division, which comprises marine, energy, aviation, retrocession and Bermuda business. Manning will join the firm on September 27 and report to Kevin Fisher, chairman of he global specialties division.

As a member of the Bermuda-based retrocession and Lloyd’s property team, Manning will help the firm expand its presence in the Bermuda marketplace and develop retrocession market-based reinsurance solutions and capacity on behalf of the firm’s retrocession clients worldwide.

Manning was previously a director at Deutsche Bank in London, where he was mainly responsible for originating and structuring non-life insurance linked securities. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was senior structurer – insurance linked securities at ABN AMRO, with a particular focus on natural catastrophe securitizations. Before that, Manning worked at broker RK Carvill & Co, where he specialised in cat bonds, contingent capital, credit hedging strategies, and other convergence products within the insurance industry.
