He reports to Michael Cross, President of Acrisure Re North America, and has joined the North American Executive Committee.

Botsis is primarily responsible for expanding Acrisure Re’s US midwestern footprint, while acting as an advisor on regional business across North America.

Cross said: “I’m pleased to welcome Jim to our expanding global team. With his extensive industry knowledge and network, Jim will play a pivotal role in expanding our reinsurance presence and capabilities in the Midwestern US.”

Botsis will also be focused on internal strategy to find organic growth and cross sell products, the broker said.

He brings more than 25 years of industry experience and joins Acrisure Re from rival US broker BMS, where he was an executive vice president for 13 years.

An advocate for the reinsurance industry, he has consulted for multiple state insurance regulation departments on the industry’s behalf.

Botsis’ background is focused on the agricultural industry, and he has placed specific agricultural reinsurance programmes for both large, national and regional companies, as well as working with agricultural aggregators to secure capital for the sector.

Botsis added: “I have always admired Acrisure Re’s commitment to collaboration, bringing innovative solutions backed by expertise to the market.

“I am thrilled to be joining the team at a time when it is truly focused on prioritizing its clients and strategic growth and I look forward to working with Acrisure’s global network to enhance its offerings even further.”
