Aon has appointed Jimmy Mitchell and Adam Rimmer to its Global ReSpecialty team as the broker continues to expand its specialty and proportional reinsurance capabilities

Aon has appointed Jimmy Mitchell and Adam Rimmer as brokers within its Global ReSpecialty team.
Mitchell joins as vice president of Global ReSpecialty and will be based in New York.
He will work with clients on structuring global treaty portfolios, with a focus on expanding access to proportional reinsurance markets.
Mitchell joined Aon’s Commercial Risk team in 2025 after previously working at Guy Carpenter and Willis.
He will report to James Fogarty, global head of marine, energy and composite for Global ReSpecialty, operating across the retrocession and specialty proportional business lines.
Rimmer joins from FloodFlash, where he was co-founder and CEO for eight years.
Prior to that, he spent five years in the capital markets team at RMS.
Based in London, Rimmer joins as a senior property specialty broker and will report to Ivor James, senior broker for Global ReSpecialty.
Aon said Rimmer would bring technical expertise in property reinsurance, insurance-linked securities and parametric solutions to support clients with risk transfer strategies.
Richard Wheeler, co-leader of Global ReSpecialty, said: “We are excited to welcome Jimmy and Adam to our growing team to help drive better decision making for our clients.
“They represent our ongoing investments in exceptional talent and expertise to support our clients’ profitable growth and effective risk management strategies in a continuingly evolving risk landscape,” he added.
