Walker to take on new role in January as broker builds out regional strategy
Aon has named Leon Walker as its new EMEA captives leader, effective 1 January 2026.
Walker (pictured) joined the broker in 2022 to head UK Inpoint, its carrier engagement and consulting unit, where he has overseen a data-driven advisory practice supporting insurers and reinsurers.
Before Aon, he held senior roles at Willis Towers Watson and Lloyd’s, as well as business development leadership positions at technology providers Instanda and AdvantageGo.
In his new role, Walker will be responsible for driving strategy, transformation and sustainable growth across Aon’s captives business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He will report to Ciaran Healy, Aon’s global captives leader, and work closely with the EMEA risk capital team.
Walker said captives are increasingly central to corporate strategy.
“Captives are much more than an administrative tool, they are becoming boardroom essentials for capital management, risk innovation, and long-term resilience,” he said.
“I’m excited to work with our expert teams across EMEA to build on Aon’s strong foundations, deepen our connection with the wider firm, and help our clients unlock the full potential of their captives in today’s ever changing risk landscape.”
Healy said the appointment reflected Aon’s investment in its captives offering.
“Leon is a proven leader with a track record of building strong teams and delivering results for clients. His industry knowledge and perspective will be invaluable as we continue to expand our captives capabilities and help clients unlock new ways to manage risk and capital across EMEA,” he said.
“At a time when businesses are facing heightened volatility, regulatory change, and the need for greater capital efficiency, captives are becoming an increasingly critical part of corporate risk strategies – and Leon’s guidance will help ensure we continue to meet these evolving needs.”
