Ondine Bourrut Lacouture steps into the role after playing a key part in the syndicate’s development, as Arch has tripled its stamp capacity since acquisition.
Arch Capital Group has promoted Ondine Bourrut Lacouture (pictured) to active underwriter of Syndicate 1955 at Lloyd’s, succeeding Simon Williams after six years in the role.
Williams, who led the syndicate following its acquisition by Arch in 2019, will remain chief strategy and distribution officer of Arch Insurance International, a position he has held since 2018.
She steps into the role after playing a key part in the syndicate’s development, as Arch has tripled its stamp capacity since acquisition.
The firm emphasised it had built a more diversified and profitable platform through cycle management and portfolio optimisation.
Jerome Halgan, president and chief underwriting officer of Arch Reinsurance Group, said: “We congratulate Ondine on her promotion.

The syndicate has become a key underwriting vehicle for both Arch and its third-party capital partners, with performance improving significantly in recent years.
