Divakaram brings more than 30 years of experience across broking, underwriting and risk management.

He joins from Gallagher Re, where he spent eight years as executive director and was responsible for building out its treaty business in Asia.

He also worked in the treaty broking division at Guy Carpenter.

Divakaram is based in Singapore and reports to Richard Broad, head of treaty Asia Pacific.

He will be responsible for developing the team serving Miller’s growing Asian client base and strengthening treaty capability as part of the broker’s global reinsurance platform.

His appointment follows a year of expansion for Miller in Asia, including the acquisition of AHJ and the launch of Miller Korea in 2025.

Broad said: “The Asian Treaty market represents a significant growth opportunity for Miller as we continue to build out our global reinsurance capabilities. Sailesh’s appointment reflects Miller’s long-term commitment to the market and our continued investment in the industry’s leading talent.

“As Sailesh grows and develops our Treaty proposition in Asia, we are excited to bring our leading broking and analytics services to a wider pool of clients, combining the scale and infrastructure of our single global reinsurance platform with the deep Asian market expertise of our dedicated regional team,” he said.

Divakaram added: “I am thrilled to have joined Miller and can’t wait to deliver the Miller proposition to our rapidly growing Treaty client base in Asia.

“To work for a genuine alternative broker with such an experienced team was a hugely attractive opportunity, and I’m excited by our potential to meaningfully enhance the regional Treaty market with Miller’s global reinsurance capabilities.”
