Three senior appointments expand underwriting depth across core markets, the re/insurance MGA said

Envelop Risk has bolstered its underwriting platforms in Bermuda and London with three senior appointments, according to the re/insurance managing general agent (MGA).

In Bermuda, Michael Murdoch-Smith joins as senior vice president, underwriter, and JayLynn Hines as vice president, underwriter.

In London, Sarah Kennerley joins as vice president, underwriter.

Murdoch-Smith, formerly head of cyber underwriting at Park Indemnity, has over 20 years’ industry experience, including 15 years at Allied World.

He will lead the delivery of Envelop’s cyber strategy in Bermuda.

Hines brings 10 years of experience, joining from Ariel Re, where she managed a cyber treaty portfolio.

Kennerley, who has nine years’ cyber underwriting experience, was previously open market cyber co-lead at Axis Capital.

She will support delivery of Envelop’s London cyber strategy.

Dominic Peters, CEO of Envelop Underwriting, welcomed the new hires.

Murdoch-Smith added he was “thrilled” to join at a pivotal time.
