Senior independent director will succeed Bridget Rosewell, subject to regulatory approval
Flood Re has appointed Simon Green as its new chair, subject to regulatory approval.

Green (pictured) currently serves as Flood Re’s senior independent director and will succeed Bridget Rosewell, who announced in July that she would step down.
He brings more than 25 years of experience across financial services, regulation and governance, including senior roles at the Financial Conduct Authority, Financial Services Authority and Bank of England.
Green also currently serves as a non-executive director in the insurance sector.
Flood Re was established in 2016 as a joint initiative between the Government and insurance industry to improve the affordability and availability of household flood insurance.
Perry Thomas, CEO of Flood Re, said: “Simon brings a wealth of experience in financial services, regulation and governance, as well as a strong understanding of Flood Re’s important role in supporting households at risk of flooding.
“Simon has been a highly valued member of the Flood Re board and has provided excellent leadership as Senior Independent Director.”
Thomas said Green would help lead Flood Re through its next phase, including the development of BeFloodReady and wider work to improve flood resilience.
“As we look to the future, including the development of BeFloodReady and our wider ambition to help people become more resilient to flooding, Simon’s leadership and existing knowledge of Flood Re will be invaluable,” he said.
Thomas also paid tribute to Rosewell.
“Bridget has played a pivotal role in shaping Flood Re’s success and helping position the organisation for the future,” he said.
Green said: “I am honoured to be selected to be the next chair of Flood Re, subject to regulatory approval.
“Flood Re has achieved a great deal since its establishment, but there remains much more to do as we strengthen the nation’s resilience to flooding.”
He added: “I look forward to working with the Board, leadership team, insurers, Government and partners to help deliver Flood Re’s mission and support the long-term transition to a more flood-resilient future.”
