Carlos Grijalva will be based in Hong Kong and tasked with growing the reinsurance broker’s cyber capabilities across the region
Gallagher Re has appointed Carlos Grijalva as executive director and head of cyber for Asia Pacific (APAC).
He was most recently head of cyber sales for APAC at rival broker Willis Towers Watson.
Previous roles included spells at Chubb in Quito, Ecuador, and with Generali in Hong Kong.
Grijalva (pictured) will be based in Hong Kong, the reinsurance broker announced.
He joins with experience across underwriting and broking roles in the APAC cyber market.
Gallagher Re said that Grijalva will work closely with its APAC regional broking teams, its global cyber team and colleagues across the re/insurance intermediary.
His role will focus on developing and growing cyber capabilities across the value chain in APAC.
The appointment comes as Gallagher Re expands its cyber offering in the region, where it said its client base is growing rapidly.
Gallagher Re said Grijalva’s appointment reflects its commitment to building a strong local presence in one of the fastest-growing regions for cyber.
