Guy Carpenter has appointed Matthew Flynn as head of global clients for its Global Specialties business, a newly created role designed to enhance the firm’s focus on strategic client relationships.

Flynn will join the global specialties leadership team and report to James Boyce, CEO of global specialties.

Based in London, he is expected to take up the position in the coming months.

In his new role, Flynn will be responsible for advancing Guy Carpenter’s value proposition for its global client segment across its specialty lines.

The reinsurance broker said his role was reinforcing the firm’s strategic commitment to delivering bespoke solutions to its largest clients.

Flynn brings over 20 years of industry experience and was most recently head of property catastrophe – assumed retro and UK property at RenaissanceRe.

He previously worked at Guy Carpenter between 2011 and 2018 as a managing director and senior broker, specialising in property retrocession for London, Bermuda and global clients.

“It is great to welcome Matt back to Guy Carpenter,” said Boyce. “With extensive experience in client relationship management, Matt’s proven leadership and strategic approach will further elevate our global client partnerships.”
