Wiley (pictured) joins HIVE from Sompo, where he was head of international property.

He brings more than 20 years of industry experience across international and UK property, including responsibility for complex portfolios and underwriting performance.

His appointment at the London market MGA follows the arrival of Richard Brown as head of property to establish HIVE’s global property D&F business.

Wiley will work alongside Brown to develop the portfolio, combining underwriting expertise with HIVE’s investment in data, analytics and technology.

Brown said: “Ed brings considerable technical depth and a clear understanding of what it takes to build and manage a successful property portfolio.

“His experience will be invaluable as we develop our Property D&F business and establish a team that brokers can rely on for informed, responsive underwriting.”

He added: “We share a commitment to disciplined underwriting and lasting relationships. I’m delighted to welcome Ed to HIVE as we build the foundations for the portfolio’s long-term success.”

Wiley said: “Joining HIVE offers an exciting opportunity to help shape a new property business from the outset.

“The combination of specialist expertise, an entrepreneurial culture and investment in technology provides a compelling platform for building a strong portfolio.”

He added: “I look forward to working with Richard and the wider team, developing our broker relationships and bringing a thoughtful, consistent approach to complex property risks.”
