“We need to amplify our talent’s potential” to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving risk landscape, says Marsh McLennan CEO

The (re)insurance industry must empower the next generation of leaders to meet the challenges of the fast-evolving risk landscape. This is according to Dan Glaser, president and CEO of Marsh McLennan.

Speaking ahead of the opening of the Marsh McLennan Rising Professionals’ Global Forum in London, Glaser said: “Attaining new levels of societal resilience in response to an escalating risk environment will require future leaders to reach new heights for clients and society at large. As an industry, we need to amplify our talent’s potential and enable their ambition.”

John Doyle, group president, chief operating officer, said: “When you look at the scale and potential impact of the societal issues being addressed during the Forum, including climate change, cyber risk, and pandemics, the intensity of the risk environment our rising professionals face is considerable.

”Empowering these individuals and grounding them in the technical capabilities that underpin the insurance marketplace will help them innovate solutions that enable clients to tackle these perils effectively.”

The two-day Forum’s theme is “Navigating an extraordinary world.” During the event, transformational leaders from the (re)insurance sector and other industries will share insights with future market leaders.

Vicky Carter, chairman of Global Capital Solutions, International for Guy Carpenter, and Chairman of the Rising Professionals’ Initiative, said: “The Forum provides what we believe is a once in a career opportunity for our burgeoning market talent to engage with leaders from the (re)insurance sector and beyond who have shaped the industry, driven innovation, and delivered positive change.

”The relationships they forge with market peers and industry leaders will better enable them to successfully navigate through an extraordinarily challenging world for their clients and communities.”
