Former Protector Forsikring executive will support growth across Northern Europe from Liberty’s Oslo office
Liberty Mutual Reinsurance has appointed Fredrik H. Øyan as market manager for the Nordics, effective 1 November 2026.
Based in Oslo, Øyan (pictured) will work with underwriting teams in Cologne, London and Madrid to strengthen collaboration across the Nordic markets and support growth in Northern Europe.
He brings more than 20 years of insurance and reinsurance experience in the region.
Øyan has held overall underwriting responsibility for property and casualty business for more than a decade, alongside responsibility for reinsurance purchasing across all lines.
He previously worked at Protector Forsikring ASA, where Liberty said he played a central role in the company’s expansion into Sweden, Denmark and the UK.
Øyan also has broking experience from Willis in London.
During his career, he has built relationships with insurers, reinsurers and brokers across the Nordics and major reinsurance centres including London, Zurich, Cologne and Munich.
