Veteran broker is expected to relocate to the island in early 2027 as Lockton Re prepares further investment and appointments in its Bermuda operation
Lockton Re has appointed Jeremy England Lee as chairman of its Bermuda business as the reinsurance broker looks to expand its capabilities on the island.

Subject to approvals, England Lee is expected to relocate to Bermuda in early 2027.
He joined Lockton Re’s non-marine retrocession and property specialty division in June 2021 and has helped develop the business across London, Bermuda and the US.
England Lee has almost five decades of industry experience, having begun his career at Lloyd’s D E Harman Syndicate in 1978.
He subsequently held facultative, North American treaty and retrocession roles at CT Bowring and Carpenter Bowring before joining Benfield as a director in 1996. He later worked within Aon’s Global Re Specialty team.
Tim Gardner, global CEO of Lockton Re, said: “Jez is the perfect candidate for this newly created role. He is already well known in Bermuda and has been a champion of the unique culture of collaboration at Lockton Re for many years.”
Gardner said the appointment marked the first stage of further investment in Bermuda ahead of the 1 January renewals.
“This new role is the first step in our investment plans and key appointments for Lockton Re Bermuda as we support clients through another busy January 1st renewal,” he said.
“Bermuda continues to be a vital geography for our continued success.”
England Lee will work alongside Bermuda-based partners Tom Parcell and Ben Ryan, while supporting both on-island business and global clients.
“The prospect of building on the time I have spent with the team in Bermuda and working even more closely with colleagues visiting the Island and other team members including Partners based there; Tom Parcell and Ben Ryan, is both exciting and motivating,” England Lee said.
“I look forward to expanding our support for on-Island business, and global clients, as we deliver on our planned investment and focus on this key Lockton Re hub that connects many of our capabilities and areas of expertise,” he added.
Lockton Re said further announcements concerning its Bermuda office are planned over the coming weeks and months.
