Reinsurance broker strengthens cyber capabilities with new London-based leadership role
Lockton Re has appointed Ed Le Flufy as its first global head of cyber, underlining the broker’s investment in one of the fastest-growing reinsurance classes.
Le Flufy will be based in London and will lead the development of a multi-disciplinary global cyber team, working with clients and colleagues across key markets.
The role will focus on delivering innovative risk transfer solutions in both traditional and insurance-linked securities (ILS) markets, supported by advanced analytics and risk consulting.
Keith Harrison, international CEO of Lockton Re, said the appointment aligned with the firm’s wider growth strategy.
“We are delighted Ed will be joining Lockton Re supporting our commitment to provide clients with leading edge solutions and insight into the fast-growing and evolving cyber market,” he said.
“Leading our cyber team Ed will drive the further development and delivery of a multi-disciplinary global cyber team that combines innovative risk transfer solutions with advanced cyber analytics and risk consulting expertise.”
Le Flufy is currently a senior cyber broking executive at Gallagher Re, having joined Capsicum Re’s cyber unit in 2018.
He previously spent eight years in reinsurance broking roles at rival intermediary BMS Re.
He will take up his new role after completing obligations to his current employer, Lockton Re observed.
Nick Durant, Lockton Re’s North America CEO, said the appointment reflected the importance of cyber to the firm’s clients.
“Cyber as a class of business is very much in growth mode and we expect that trajectory to continue for some time,” he said.
“The business is thrilled to welcome Ed in this new global role with his terrific market reputation for strong client advocacy and deep specialist cyber broking expertise and experience.”
