Patel to lead global transaction structuring and reserving analytics as McGregor takes charge of North America retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions.
Lockton Re has expanded its capital advisory capabilities with two senior appointments in its retrospective reinsurance and legacy team.

Darsh Patel has been appointed to lead transaction structuring and reserving analytics globally. He will be based in London.
Jack McGregor has been named head of retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions for North America.
He will be based in Chicago and will also support the development of Lockton Re’s growing casualty segment in the US.
The appointments add more than five decades of combined experience to the broker’s global advisory operations, the firm observed.
James Dickerson, head of retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions at Lockton Re, said the hires brought recognised market expertise.
“We are delighted to bring individuals of such a strong calibre into our team,” he said.
“Both Darsh and Jack are recognised as market leaders in their respective fields with over 50 years of industry experience between them.”
Patel joins from Aon, where he was a legacy actuary within its capital advisory unit.
His past roles include positions at RiverStone International, BDO and Tradewise Insurance Services.
McGregor joins from Fortitude Re, where he served as chief P&C reinsurance officer.
He previously held senior posts at AIG, including CEO of its Eaglestone Re subsidiary, and began his career in law as a trial litigator and insurance counsel.
Eric Paire, head of capital advisory at Lockton Re, said the hires come at a pivotal point in the cycle.
“They enhance our capabilities in the US, the London market and Europe at a point in the insurance cycle where retrospective solutions are extremely useful tools for our clients to manage capital and profit and loss,” he said.
“Both these new roles will work with Lockton Re clients and colleagues across the globe,” he added.
