Former Chaucer senior class underwriter will lead Liberty Specialty Markets’ London property direct and facultative team

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed Richard Richards as head of property direct and facultative, effective immediately.

Based in London, Richards (pictured) will report to Kevin Demmon, divisional director, property, UK and MENA.

He will lead LSM’s London property D&F team, with responsibility for the portfolio and its underwriting strategy.

Richards brings more than 20 years of experience in the property D&F market.

He joins from Chaucer Syndicates, where he spent 10 years as a senior class underwriter.

Earlier in his career, Richards held roles at Allianz and Zurich.

Demmon said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard to the team as we continue to develop and enhance our property D&F portfolio.

“His wealth of knowledge across the D&F market will help Liberty to continue to augment its international property offering,” he added.
