Operating under a Labuan licence (hub, pictured), the new business will initially focus on treaty and facultative reinsurance, with plans to broaden its product offering over time.

The launch follows the opening of Miller Korea in January 2025 and the acquisition of Japanese broker Lead Insurance Services in 2022.

Miller said it has already secured key talent in the region, including Jo Garnett and Hui Sin Low, with additional hires expected to join later in 2026.

The broker said the expansion forms part of its wider international growth strategy and follows strong full-year results for 2025.

Ron Whyte, head of Asia at Miller, said: “Malaysia is a significant Asian market and I am incredibly excited to be reestablishing the Miller brand in the region.

“We continue to be one of the fastest-growing players in Asia, building on milestones such as the launch of Miller Korea and our diversification into Japanese non-marine lines.”

He added: “With Miller Malaysia, we are continuing to demonstrate real momentum as we extend the scope and reach of our market-leading specialist capabilities.”
