Andrew Mirfin joins NPRe as the reinsurance business marks its tenth anniversary and continues a period of growth
NPRe has appointed Andrew Mirfin as CEO, effective 8 May 2026.

Mirfin joins the independent reinsurance and insurance business as it marks its tenth anniversary and continues a period of growth.
He was previously CEO of Building Block, where he initially joined as head of distribution.
Mirfin began his insurance career in 1997 in regional sales at General Accident Insurance.
NPRe operates across the Caribbean, the UK and Europe, providing risk solutions for MGAs, brokers, small and developing cedants, mutuals, captives and lenders.
The company said it emphasises expert-led evaluation rather than algorithmic underwriting, with a focus on alignment and long-term partnerships.
Founding director Andrew Bye said: “We are pleased to welcome Andrew to NPRe.
“His leadership experience, strategic insight and strong alignment with NPRe’s values make him an exceptional choice.
“Our commitment to precision, partnership and rigorous risk assessment remains central to our success, and Andrew is the right leader to guide our next phase,” Bye continued.
In his new role, Mirfin will oversee NPRe’s continued expansion, further strengthening its underwriting approach and relationships with global partners.
Mirfin said: “I’m honoured to join NPRe at such an exciting point in its journey.
“NPRe’s strong foundations, sustained growth and commitment to expert-led decision-making set it apart in the reinsurance sector.
“I look forward to working with this talented team to deliver long-term value to clients, partners and stakeholders,” he added.
