MS Amlin has named Nicola Harris as its new head of natural resources, in a move the Lloyd’s (re)insurer said reinforced its commitment to clients across the full energy chain, including a growing renewables account.
Harris joins in August and will report to Martin Burke, chief underwriting officer at MS Amlin.
Her remit will include oversight of a portfolio spanning upstream, midstream and downstream energy clients, as well as renewable energy businesses.
She most recently served as head of energy for AXA XL’s UK and Lloyd’s business, and was previously chief of staff to its global energy CUO and head of energy for EMEA.
She earlier held the role of head of energy and marine at Allianz in the MENA region and spent eight years at Marsh, where she led its power and energy team and helped build its African energy proposition.
Burke said Harris’s leadership would be a major asset as the company continues to evolve its offering for clients undergoing energy transition.
“I’m delighted Nicola is joining MS Amlin to lead our Natural Resources team,” he said.
“She brings many years of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable as we continue to support our clients in their ongoing transition strategies.
“Over the course of her career, she has demonstrated time and time again that she is calm under pressure and has a pragmatic approach to developing mutually beneficial solutions. Nicola’s drive and motivation will be a great inspiration for the team and a wonderful role model for many across our business.”
