Tim Harris steps up from deputy CUO while Stephanie Belcourt joins from Rokstone as MSIG UK strengthens its underwriting and claims leadership

MSIG UK has appointed Tim Harris as interim chief underwriting officer (CUO) and Stephanie Belcourt as claims director.

Harris (pictured) was previously deputy CUO and has held the CUO role on an interim basis since 7 September following the departure of John Moffatt.

His appointment is subject to regulatory approval and he will report to MSIG UK CEO Martyn Rodden.

Harris has played a role in developing and delivering the insurer’s underwriting strategy.

The company said he will work with the underwriting leadership team to maintain continuity across strategy, performance and service.

Belcourt joins as claims director after most recently leading complex claims at Rokstone.

She previously held roles at Apollo and Hiscox.

Both Harris and Belcourt will join the MSIG UK executive committee.

The appointments come as MSIG UK continues to develop its open market business, including through its Dual Stamp initiative with MS Amlin and investment across marine, construction, casualty, property and claims.

The insurer has also been expanding its distribution through new MGA partnerships and portfolio solutions.

Rodden said: “Tim is a highly respected leader who has played an important role in developing our underwriting proposition and culture.

“His appointment reflects both his contribution to the business and the depth of talent within our underwriting team. Our underwriting strategy, appetite and ambitions remain unchanged following Tim’s appointment.”

He added: “The forthcoming arrival of Stephanie Belcourt as Claims Director further strengthens our leadership team and reflects our commitment to investing in the future of the business.

“With Tim and Stephanie’s leadership, the experience of our wider team and the support of our Board and shareholder, we remain focused on delivering disciplined growth, underwriting excellence and consistently high standards of service for our brokers, clients and partners.”
