Thomas Blunck will assume responsibility for P&C Reinsurance Europe and Latin America from 1 November while continuing as CEO of Reinsurance

Clarisse Kopff (pictured) will step down from Munich Re’s board of management at the end of 31 October 2026 following a four-year term.
The move has been agreed by mutual consent, the German reinsurer said.
Kopff, who is responsible for P&C reinsurance for Europe and Latin America, will not be directly replaced on the board.
From 1 November, responsibility for the division will transfer to Thomas Blunck, who will continue in his existing role as CEO of reinsurance.
Blunck, 61, will therefore combine oversight of the Europe and Latin America property and casualty reinsurance business with his wider responsibilities for Munich Re’s reinsurance operations.
Munich Re did not provide further details on the reasons for Kopff’s departure.
The reinsurer said: “The board of management and the supervisory board of Munich Re thank Ms Kopff for her great commitment and service to the company and wish her all the best for the future.”
