Howden said its US retail broking unit brings “the power of a global broker with the independence, ownership, and entrepreneurial spirit of a local firm”
Howden US has appointed Carol Murphy as head of US casualty, as the broker builds out its retail operation across the country.
Murphy (pictured) joins Mike Parrish’s leadership team and work with Howden’s global specialty leaders to develop a “client-focused, technically rigorous and locally responsive” casualty offering.
She is recognised as one of the leading figures in the casualty market, the broking firm said, with a track record of translating complex risks into solutions for clients.
“Clients need a casualty partner that delivers exceptional results with speed, precision and accountability,” Murphy said.
“At Howden, we’re building a practice grounded in deep local expertise, supported by our global capabilities.
“Our team will demonstrate what’s possible when you combine rigorous problem-solving expertise with a relentless focus on client outcomes, from middle-market to the largest multinational organisations.”
Parrish, CEO of Howden US, said the hire aligned with the firm’s vision for its growing US platform.
“Carol is a great builder of teams that have elevated industry standards, and her extensive experience and rigorous technical excellence provide us with an incredibly strong position in the market,” he said.
“Her appointment is in keeping with our vision for Howden US: a business defined by uncompromising standards, accountability and the ability to deliver superior client experiences across every specialty, coast-to-coast.”
Murphy previously held senior industry roles at Aon, where she led casualty strategy, placement and execution, alongside complex claims advisory and analytics.
She now joins senior regional experts Dan Davoli, Matt Replogle and Mark Colgate at Howden to expand the broker’s casualty solutions.
