Price Forbes has appointed Tarek Semaan (pictured, rightmost) and Anthony Abi Fadel (right inner) to senior facultative roles in Dubai as it builds its capability across the Middle East and Africa.

Semaan has been appointed head of facultative, Middle East and Africa (MEA), while Fadel joins as director, facultative.

Both appointments are effective immediately.

Price Forbes said the hires form part of the re/insurance broker’s wider expansion of its fac capabilities globally.

Semaan will report to David Howells, senior executive officer at Price Forbes Dubai.

He will lead the growth and development of the broker’s facultative business across the MEA region.

Semaan joins from rival broker Gallagher Re, where he was most recently executive director.

In that role, he led facultative reinsurance development across the region and delivered tailored solutions for complex risks.

Fadel will report to Semaan.

He also joins from Gallagher Re, where he was associate director.

Price Forbes said Fadel brings a strong regional track record as a producer and placement broker.

John Thompson, CEO of Price Forbes Broking, said: “Dubai is an important hub for Price Forbes in serving the MEA region, which continues to see surging demand for insurance solutions and risk transfer expertise.

“Both Tarek and Anthony bring strong complementary technical skills and regional knowledge essential to meeting that demand and I am delighted to welcome them to the team,” Thompson added.
