Turner (pictured) joins from AXA XL, where he was global chief underwriting officer for structured risk solutions.

He brings more than 30 years’ experience across roles at AIG, JLT and AXA XL.

In his new role, Turner will lead broker and cedant engagement, shaping QBE Re’s structured reinsurance proposition and developing solutions to meet evolving client needs.

He will report to Ashish Ahluwalia, global head of performance and portfolio analytics.

Ahluwalia said structured reinsurance had become a key focus for QBE Re as demand grows for capital-efficient and tailored risk-transfer solutions.

“We are pleased to have appointed someone with Robert’s considerable experience in this new role,” he said.

“As we expand into this space, we will leverage QBE Re’s market-leading underwriting and analytics capabilities, as well as QBE Group’s balance sheet strength,” Ahluwalia added.
