Everest has appointed Paul Trueman as head of international and Mark Shaw as global head of commercial within its global wholesale and specialty insurance division

Everest Group has made two senior leadership appointments within its global wholesale and specialty insurance business, effective immediately.

Evrerest wholesale and specialty

Paul Trueman (pictured, right) has been named head of international, global wholesale and specialty, while Mark Shaw (pictured to the right of Trueman) takes on the role of global head of commercial for the division.

The appointments sit within Everest’s global wholesale and specialty insurance unit, which is led by Jason Keen.

Keen said the changes were designed to strengthen a more unified wholesale and specialty platform across markets.

“Paul and Mark are proven leaders with a strong track record of success at Everest, exemplifying the experience and executional strength that define the group,” Keen said.

Trueman will be responsible for underwriting, distribution and portfolio strategy across Everest’s international wholesale and specialty operations.

He will also oversee key international businesses including Everest Global Markets, accident and health, and facultative underwriting.

Trueman joined Everest in 2022 and has been closely involved in building out the insurer’s specialty capabilities and broker relationships across major international hubs.

Before joining Everest, he held a number of senior underwriting and leadership roles in the global specialty insurance market.

Shaw will lead Everest’s global commercial insurance strategy within the wholesale and specialty business.

His responsibilities include broker engagement, client development and the coordination of commercial activity across regions.

Shaw also joined Everest in 2022 and has since held a number of senior roles, including UK commercial director and global account lead.

He is widely known in the market for his broker relationships and experience across wholesale distribution channels.

Keen said the appointments reflected Everest’s focus on disciplined underwriting and closer broker alignment as it continues to expand its wholesale and specialty franchise.

“Their appointments support our strategy to build a performance-driven wholesale and specialty platform with strong underwriting discipline, portfolio management and broker alignment across all markets,” he added.
