Former Munich Re executive will lead the establishment and development of Willis Re’s German operations
Willis Re has appointed Thomas Artmann as CEO of Germany, effective immediately.

Based in Munich, Artmann (pictured) will lead the development of Willis Re’s German operations and oversee the establishment of its presence in the market.
He brings more than 36 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, including 25 years at Munich Re.
Most recently, Artmann served as CEO of Munich Re Syndicates.
He was previously a non-executive director on the board of Munich Re’s Lloyd’s subsidiary, Munich Re Underwriting Ltd.
Lucy Clarke, board member of Willis Re, said: “We are delighted to welcome Thomas as CEO of our German operations.
“His extensive expertise, strong leadership and longstanding relationships across the German reinsurance market and globally make him exceptionally well placed to lead the business through the next phase of growth.”
She added that the appointment would support Willis Re’s efforts to strengthen its position in the German market.
