Internal promotion to lead the re/insurer’s strategic direction and day to day leadership of its outwards reinsurance function across London, Dubai and Singapore
MS Amlin has appointed Sarah Wilson as head of outwards reinsurance, with immediate effect.

Wilson (pictured) will report to Martin Burke, chief underwriting officer, MS Amlin.
She was previously co-lead of the outwards reinsurance function, and her promotion reflects the insurer’s focus on developing senior reinsurance leadership internally.
In the new role, Wilson takes full responsibility for the strategic direction and day to day leadership of the outwards reinsurance function.
Her remit includes the design and placement of MS Amlin’s reinsurance programmes, portfolio optimisation, and counterparty engagement across the group’s global platforms.
She will work closely with underwriting teams in London, Dubai and Singapore to ensure the reinsurance strategy remains aligned with risk appetite, capital objectives and long term profitability.
Wilson joined MS Amlin in 2022 as outwards reinsurance department manager.
She brings more than 20 years of market experience, having spent two decades at Tokio Marine Kiln, where she progressed to reinsurance inwards treaty departmental manager in 2017.
The appointment comes against the backdrop of the January 1 renewals, which saw record levels of capital from both traditional and alternative sources continue to outpace incremental buyer demand.
MS Amlin said disciplined reinsurance strategy, experienced leadership and strong counterparty relationships remain central to its approach in the current market environment.
Sarah Wilson said: “I am excited to step into this role as we begin 2026.
“As the market continues to navigate geopolitical volatility and structural change, disciplined reinsurance strategy, strong partnerships and a clear focus on risk are more important than ever.
“I look forward to continuing to work closely with my team and the wider business to support MS Amlin’s underwriting ambitions in the year ahead.”
Martin Burke said: “Sarah’s promotion reflects both her leadership capabilities and MS Amlin’s commitment to creating an environment where talent can develop and thrive.
“She has played a central role in building a highly capable outwards reinsurance team.
“As the market moves on from the January 1 renewals, experienced leaders who understand both the technical and people dimensions of reinsurance are critical, and Sarah is exceptionally well placed to lead the function into 2026,” Burke added.
