Sir Richard Branson's eight bedroom house in the Caribbean has been destroyed by fire after being struck by lightning from Hurricane Irene.
Guests of Branson's on Necker Island were forced to flee after the powerful category 1 hurricane converged on the area, according to the Metro.
"We had a really bad tropical storm with winds up to 90mph," said Branson. "A big lightening storm came around 4am and hit the house."
The tropical storm tore through the Virgin Island over the weekend, before strengthening to a hurricane on Monday as it heads towards the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
According to EQECAT, Hurricane Irene is currently 70 miles northeast of the Dominican Republic and is heading towards southern Florida.
On the current 5-day track, Irene could potentially hit Florida's east coast and make landfall as a category 3 hurricane on Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
