Insurer receives QFC approval; expected to attract more Japanese companies to Qatar
Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company (Europe) has opened a branch office in the Qatar Financial Centre after receiving regulatory approval.
The company plans to provide in-depth support to both Japanese and Qatari companies by capitalising on relationships with local insurers and brokers.
“We are proud to now be a part of this dynamic and highly-regarded international financial market and very grateful to the QFC for their invaluable support and help in gaining this licence," a company statement said.
"We will work to make a dynamic and growing contribution not only to the local insurance sector but also to Qatar’s powerful economic growth."
