George Van Gilder is current CEO as well
The Toa Reinsurance Company of America has announced that George Van Gilder was elected chairman of the board.
Van Gilder succeeds Shinya Yoshikoshi, who retired from service with The Toa Reinsurance Company of Tokyo, Japan, the parent company of Toa Re America, earlier this year.
Van Gilder has over thirty years experience in the property and casualty, investment banking and catastrophe modeling software industries. Prior to joining Toa Re America, he spent almost 25 years with the Chubb Group, among other positions.
Van Gilder became chief executive officer of Toa Re America in August 2003 and will continue in that role as well as assuming the board chairmanship.
