Patrick O'Brien has been named Business Leader for GE Insurance Solutions' US Accident & Health business unit, responsible for the company's US-based Long Term Care, Group Long Term Disability, Managed Behavioral Health, Critical Illness, and Personal Accident products.
The companys said he will play a key role in helping the US Accident & Health business segment deliver on the company's goal of providing unsurpassed customer service.
Since 2001, O'Brien has served as senior vice president and chief operating officer for Property Insurance & Services. In that role, he led a global organisation of underwriting and loss prevention professionals and championed successful efforts to increase the company's focus on strategic customers and sales force effectiveness.
O'Brien began his GE career in 1995, as a loss preventionrepresentative, advancing through several positions including one as a Black Belt in the Quality function.
