Consulting and broking firm Towers Watson has nabbed Conrad Lagasca as vice president of its reinsurance broking business from rival Willis Re.

Lagasca will be based in San Francisco and will be responsible for working with clients in the western portion of the US on the strategic development of reinsurance programs.

Lagasca will report into Hugo Kostelini, executive vice president of reinsurance, who said: "His strategic vision and keen focus on the many issues in the market will benefit our clients as they do business in this extremely fluid environment."

Prior to joining Towers Watson, Lagasca was vice president at Willis Re, where he was involved in a variety of managerial and client services-related initiatives since 2001, including the development of proposals and the negotiation of excess insurance, treaty and facultative reinsurance programs to the global market.
