The TT Club, the transport insurance mutual, has announced the appointment of Andrew Webster as Director of Loss Prevention, effective from 1 July 2004. Mr Webster succeeds Club veteran John Nicholls, who has retired.

Mr Webster, who was previously Loss Prevention Manager, will be based in the Club's London headquarters.

Commenting on the appointment, Colin Lewin, TT Club's Chief Operating Officer, said: "We are confident that Andrew's background in risk management and loss prevention ideally equips him to move the Club forward in these key areas of service to our policy-holders."

Mr Webster, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, joined the TT Club's managers, Thomas Miller & Co, in 1995. He has worked for a number of mutual insurance clubs managed by Thomas Miller & Co and transferred to the TT Club in 1999. While at the TT Club, he spent two years in Dubai where he managed Member servicing issues and loss prevention for TT customers in the Middle East and Indian sub-continent.

Since returning from Dubai in 2003, as Loss Prevention Manager he has been extensively involved in the TT Club's response to the new ISPS code, the IMDG code and other security issues.
