Specialist insurer Hiscox has appointed leading auctioneer, Andrew Cheney, as their senior risk management surveyor.

In this newly created role, Cheney will work within the Hiscox Risk Management Services team to conduct 'walk-through' surveys and advise clients insured by Hiscox underwriters on safeguarding and protecting their valuables and property.

Andrew has appeared as a valuer and auctioneer for the BBC 'Flog it!' and 'Bargain Hunt' programmes and will continue in their involvement.

He has also featured as an appraiser on the US version of the 'Antiques Roadshow'.

In his spare time he also conducts charity auctions for a diverse range of charities and art related institutions.Andrew, 38, joins Hiscox from Cambridgeshire-based Rowley Fine Art Valuers and Auctioneers where he was a senior director and company auctioneer.

A qualified chartered surveyor, Andrew was previously Assistant Vice President, Senior Cataloguer and Auctioneer with Sotheby's in New York, having previously worked at their London and Sussex offices.
