Philippe Rochaix replaces Stephen Outerbridge
XL Re, the reinsurance division of global insurance group XL, has appointed Philippe Rochaix as president and chief operating officer of XL Re Latin America, effective 1 October. He is currently general manager and senior vice-president of XL Re Europe’s French branch.
Rochaix will replace Stephen Outerbridge, who will work closely with Rochaix during the transition period and will take on other responsibilities within XL's reinsurance operations. Bertrand Romagne, who managed XL Re's property treaty department for continental Europe, will assume Rochaix's responsibilities at XL Re Europe from 1 October.
In his current role, Rochaix is responsible for the management and underwriting of the property/casualty reinsurance treaty book for continental Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has also served as chief underwriting officer of XL Re Singapore.
