FM Global is to significantly increasing its local presence in the Nordic market as part of the company's long-term commitment to the Nordic region. Present in the region for the past 10 years, FM Global has now formally created a branch office in Stockholm and further enhanced the capabilities and level of service it delivers clients and brokers. The local management team will be headed up by Tomas Fehrling, general manager, Nordic region and Martin Thomas, manager, forest products, Europe.
Three new capabilities will be available from Stockholm:
1. European headquarters for delivering specific solutions to the forest products industry;
2. Enhanced ability to provide local account management and underwriting expertise; and
3. All business activity is able to draw on local, as well as global, expertiseFM Global has experienced considerable growth from companies headquartered in the region, and there has been an increasing demand from clients and brokers for FM Global to continue developing its locally based capabilities.
The product offering includes a comprehensive insurance policy and a unique focus on risk management, which is based on ensuring clients can maintain the continuity of their business operations by preventing any disruptions, rather than simply relying on insurance protection alone.
Ken Davey, managing director, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, said: “FM Global is proud to announce this boost to our capabilities in Sweden that will enhance local service for our clients. The response from companies in the Nordic region to FM Global's products and services has been extremely encouraging.”
The move also provides the forest products industry in Europe with easy access to a dedicated property insurer. The forest products operation will be based in FM Global's Stockholm office due to the large concentration of pulp and paper facilities in the Nordic region, but the office also will be the centre for this sector throughout Europe.
