New MGA platform launched by broker Acrisure targets complex and high-value risks amid strained market conditions

Acrisure is launching Ascendri Insurance Services, a new managing general agent (MGA) focused on high-value homes in catastrophe-exposed markets, starting in California.
Broker Acrisure emphasised that California is one of the most constrained property environments in the US, with more risks moving out of the admitted market.
Ascendri will provide excess and surplus (E&S) homeowners coverage for homes with insured values reaching $10m.
The new E&S homeowners insurance offering in California aims to expand access to tailored cover for complex and high-value properties.
The MGA will underwrite on behalf of rated carriers, distributing products through licensed agents and wholesalers including Acrisure.
Ascendri combines traditional underwriting with technology-led pricing, focusing on risks that may fall outside standard market appetite.
Denese Ross, managing director at Ascendri, said the product has been developed in response to gaps in the market.
“Built on years of underwriting California homes, this homeowners insurance product was developed in close collaboration with California insurance agents to address complex and high-value risks,” she said.
“We consider each property on its own merits. Our goal is to deliver strong, high-quality protection at a competitive price, without forcing unique homes into standard boxes,” Ross added.
