BMS has created a new accident and health (A&H) division in London, appointing five specialists to build out its capability in the class.

The independent re/insurance broker said the new team will complement its existing A&H relationships, providing solutions “without territorial or client restriction”.

Leading the division is James Early, who joins as managing director.

Early moved to BMS on 9 February after 18 years at Miller, where he built and led a team focused on international A&H and cross-class relationships.

In his new role he will oversee the build-out and long-term execution of the A&H strategy.

Andrew Furr has joined as director, having started on 2 January.

Furr previously served as executive director of international specialty at Burns and Wilcox Global Solutions and will focus on developing insurance solutions for specialist industries and complex environments.

Kevin White and Alexander Cassey have been appointed divisional directors.

White joined in September 2025 from Specialist Risk International and brings more than 20 years of experience in product development across a broad range of sectors.

Cassey arrived in January from Burns and Wilcox Global Solutions with 15 years of internationally focused experience delivering bespoke insurance solutions.

In their roles, White and Cassey will structure programmes designed to address emerging risks and evolving operational demands.

Paige Alston completes the team as broker.

Alston joined BMS in November 2025 after seven years at Miller, where she worked as an account handler across accident and health and delegated authority teams.

She will work closely with clients and insurers to deliver structured and tailored solutions.

Early said the team saw BMS as a natural platform for its next phase of growth.

“We are delighted to become part of such a highly respected and ambitious organisation,” Early said.

“The team has received an exceptionally warm welcome from our new colleagues, and we are confident that BMS provides the ideal platform to achieve our strategic objectives.”

He added that BMS had already established strong foundations in the class.

“BMS has already built some outstanding relationships in this space, and we are excited to contribute to the group’s continued growth,” Early said.

“Our team brings extensive experience across a broad range of products and territories, spanning complex single-risk placements through to the management and support of large binding authorities.”

Ian Gormley, UK CEO, said the appointments aligned with the broker’s broader expansion plans.

“We are pleased to welcome these talented individuals to BMS,” Gormley said.

“In 2025 BMS experienced impressive levels of growth and our ambition for our A&H division will be key in maintaining that momentum into 2026. Appointments of this calibre will certainly help us to execute our growth strategy,” he added.
