Reinsurance broker has promoted Russell Hails to lead MGA Solutions across APAC as the broker looks to expand its regional MGA proposition

Gallagher Re has appointed Russell Hails as executive director, head of managing general agent (MGA) Solutions, Asia Pacific.

Hails joined Gallagher Re last year with a mandate to re-establish the reinsurance broking firm’s MGA proposition in the Pacific region.

In the expanded role, he will work with colleagues across APAC and the Global Program Solutions team to identify and execute growth opportunities.

Hails previously held positions at Lockton and spent 15 years at Willis Re in Sydney.

There he led facultative and MGA propositions.

Roshan Perera, managing director and head of APAC at Gallagher Re, said: “This appointment represents a significant step in enhancing our MGA proposition in the region and we are confident that Russell will drive growth and deliver exceptional results in this key area.”
