Financial lines head takes on responsibility for underwriting strategy, portfolio performance and risk appetite as HDI progresses towards launch of its new Lloyd’s syndicate
HDI Global UK & Ireland has appointed Louise Radford as active underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 2029.
Radford (pictured) is currently head of financial lines at HDI UK & Ireland and will continue to lead that team alongside her new responsibilities.
She will continue to report to Adam Curran, chief underwriting officer, specialty.
Radford joined HDI in 2020 as a senior underwriter in its management liability team and brings underwriting and broking experience, including within the Lloyd’s market.
The appointment follows HDI’s recent approval in principle from Lloyd’s to establish Syndicate 2029.
As active underwriter, Radford will have overall responsibility for the syndicate’s underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, regulatory compliance and risk appetite.
HDI said she would also lead its underwriting activities and help shape the syndicate’s long-term growth.
