The Insurance Charity is encouraging those working in insurance to highlight its services to colleagues, particularly those with human resources, wellbeing, or line management responsibilities.

The Insurance Charity is calling on the insurance industry to support its annual awareness week, which begins on 23 June, and help ensure more people across the sector know about the confidential financial and practical assistance available to them.

The campaign encourages those working in insurance to spread the word about the charity’s services, which are open to anyone in the sector, regardless of their role or length of service.

The initiative follows the charity’s recent rebrand, including a new name, website, and visual identity designed to extend its reach across the UK and Ireland.

In the last financial year, the organisation awarded more than £1.3m to current and former insurance professionals and their families facing financial difficulty.

Helen Sanson, who became chief executive of the charity in March, said: “For over 120 years we’ve been supporting insurance people and their families when life has become difficult. But people don’t need to be in crisis to reach out to us – there are lots of ways we can help.

“Employers can count on us as a trusted partner to complement the support they’re already providing. People don’t need to pay to partner with us or sign up to anything – it’s the signposting that’s so important.”

Josh Brekenfeld, chairman of the charity, added: “We all need a little support from time to time. People should never be ashamed to ask for help. We don’t want to be the industry’s best kept secret, which is why this campaign is so crucial. Without the industry coming together each year to spread the word, we simply wouldn’t reach as many insurance people as we do.”
